| Our Trip to the Bog | |||
| It was Thursday afternoon. Mrs. Mc Fadden told us that we were going to the bog tomorrow. She said that we would need a pair of wellies, a rain jacket, a packed lunch, and a spare change of clothes. That evening I went down to the shop to get some sweets. The next morning the busses came at half nine. There was a big coach and a small mini bus. Our class and Mrs. Kellys class went on the mini bus and Mr. Fitzgibbons class and Mrs. Diffilys class went on the coach. It took around an hour to get there. When we arrived a big golden labrador came over to us. his name was Tibor. We got our wellies on and started walking across a field to get to the bog. There was lots of sheep in the field. When we reached the bog it was soaking wet. We saw some spaghagnum moss, I liked it the best because it was very soft and it can hold 20 times its own weight in water. We saw lots of other plants too. Laura caught a frog.It was dark brown and grey and it was realy slimey. Lots of people fell into bogholes, including Laura and me. It was very funny. After a while we went back to the farmyard and had our lunch. Then we ran onto the bus and all the people who were wet got changed. Then we went home. It was a great day. By Grainne Power |
