The bog
By John Courtney
On Friday I came into school very excited. I was going to the bog with my class. We got to go on a mini bus and the other two classes went on a single decker bus. It took 1 hour to get there. When we got there we put our wellingtons on. And got off the bus and our and our tour guide came, he was called Cecil Potterton and his dog tibor. There was a peacock and two guinea fowl and swans. There was also a lot of turf but it was it was not from their bog because their bog is a reserved bog.
Then Cecil took us through a field, then through a football pitch. The fields were full of sheep. Then we crossed the road then we stopped for a while and he told us a little bit about the castle and about the war.
Then a frog hopped by. Mr Fitzgibbon caught him and put him on the ground. Then we walked through another field into bog land. The first thing I stood in was a puddle then I started to bounce up and down. My friend Shaun fell into a bog hole. Then Cecil picked up some bog plants like, old mans beard, and bog cotton. We played for a little while then we had to go back to the farm. We had something to eat then we left. It was the best trip I've ever been on.
